From an early age, Mikhail and his sister Elena have enjoyed making music together. Their performances in Saint Petersburg took place in highly acclaimed halls such as the Shostakovitch Philharmonic Hall, the Capella, and the Glazunov Hall. In 2005 Mikhail moved to Manchester followed by his sister Elena in 2009. From that moment on the Duo started to become established in the UK.
During this time they not only embarked on their career as a duo but also took master classes with such eminent artists as Ralph Kirschbaum, Gary Hoffman, Karine Georgian, and Peter Donohoe.

Nemtsov Duo is the winner of many prestigious international competitions including Salieri-Zinetti, Italy, Swedish Duo, Sweden, Pinerolo, Italy, and Lyon, France which are the members of the World Federation of Int. Music Competitions.

The Duo performed recitals at a number of world-class venues including the Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre’s Purcell Room in London and the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. The Duo enjoyed participating on multiple occasions in music festivals in Edinburgh Fringe and Salzburg. They are regularly invited to festivals in Orlando, Holland, RNCM in Manchester, and Schloss Heiligenberg in Germany. After the success in the UK, the Duo started playing on the continent mainly in Germany and Austria, among others in cities like Stuttgart, Munich, Salzburg, and Vienna.
 

Nemtsov Duo recently released a CD on the Italian Azurro Records (Boccherini, Chopin, and Beethoven) and their new CD on CMF label sponsored by the London Mayor Award features Maxwell-Davies and Shostakovich sonatas and pieces by Shedrin, Grieg, and Nemtsova.
 

Mikhail and Elena enjoy playing a wide variety of repertoire consisting of masterpieces from various musical eras and styles.
 

The Duo is based in Austria.
